I used to let fear stop me from doing a lot of things. I was afraid to be turned down, rejected, ridiculed, and made fun of. The fear stopped me from applying for a job that sounded fun. The fear stopped me from singing at karaoke. The fear stopped me from publishing my blog to the public. The fear stopped me from making new friends. I could go on about how I let fear stop me from living my life, but I think you get the point.
I know that a lot of the things I feared to do came from a place of self-doubt, disbelief in myself, and a lack of confidence. I was more afraid of being told “No” or “I don’t like it” or “You aren’t good enough” that I decided to not even bother trying.
I believe not trying was worse.
I continued life feeling sorry for myself, in some situations, instead of holding my head high and being who I wanted to be.
I started to change my thinking, a way of thinking that I still work on daily.
The fear of being rejected or people not liking me was holding me back from so much that I love. I may not be perfect, but NO ONE IS. I may not be THE best, but at least I gave it MY BEST.
Trying and failing is more important to your growth than not trying at all. You must be willing to fail in order to improve. A very rare few individuals can master their goals overnight.

Please enjoy these quotes from a few amazing women who understand the struggle of breaking through the surface.
I hope these help you understand that fear, self-doubt, and any other disabling emotions are normal, but you are in control of how you act, and you CAN push forward.
JENNIFER LEE

If I learned one thing, it is that self-doubt is one of the most destructive forces. It makes you defensive instead of open, reactive instead of active. Self-doubt is consuming and cruel. And my hope today is that we can all collectively agree to ban it. . . . Think to the moments of your life when you forgot to doubt yourself. When you were so inspired that you were just living and creating and working. Pay attention to those moments because they're trying to reach you through those lenses of doubt and trying to show you your potential.
Don't lose faith in what you are trying to do, even though you will get pummeled emotionally left and right. There are a lot of "nos" to any "yes." And that's OK.
Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.
JK ROWLING

Failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me. Had I really succeeded at anything else, I might never have found the determination to succeed in the one arena I believed I truly belonged.
Is ‘fat’ really the worst thing a human being can be? Is ‘fat’ worse than ‘vindictive’, ‘jealous’, ‘shallow’, ‘vain’, ‘boring’ or ‘cruel’? Not to me.
It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.
You control your own life. Your own will is extremely powerful.
OPRAH WINFREY

Self-esteem comes from being able to define the world in your own terms and refusing to abide by the judgment of others.
This is the body you've been given; love what you've got.

You can’t be that kid standing at the top of the water slide, overthinking it. You have to go down the chute.
MICHELLE OBAMA

Don't ever make decisions based on fear. Make decisions based on hope and possibility. Make decisions based on what should happen, not what shouldn't.
We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own 'to do' list.
I realized I’m responsible for my happiness. I’m responsible for how I prioritize my life.
One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals
