Finding the time to be more grateful instead of wanting more has been difficult for me lately. I have this vision in my head of my future and how great it will be, but while I’ve been working towards the future, I haven’t always been happy and grateful for the present.
I mean, I’ve been ‘#happy’ while working on finding my passions and reaching for my goals, but I don’t believe I’ve given enough joy to the present moments in my life.
While working on what is to come and what I need to do now to get there, I’ve forgotten that I can enjoy the present moments a little bit more, and let the future be apart of my journey but not encompass everything that I do now.
I’m unsure if I can truly articulate the way I’m feeling about being more present and enjoying my life in the present, but I hope you find these words to be an inspiration for you to also enjoy the here and the now.
Life is happening now; I mean we all know this. Tomorrow is not promised; we’ve all heard this. But are we really making the most of each day?
Have you talked to your parents lately? When’s the last time you caught up with an old friend? How are your siblings doing? Have you said hello or had a conversation with a stranger? Have you picked up a book to learn something new? Have you gone outside and went for a walk and not checked your phone every couple of minutes?
I mean really, can you say that you were grateful or happy with one or two things that you did TODAY? If not, make a memory, do something fun, do something for yourself, do something to help another human being, do something to show someone else that you care about them.
I’m riding this wave of gladness. I’m surfing on the waters of happiness. I’m diving into the depths of a grateful heart. I am taking the time to truly be grateful for what I have. I hope that you can too.
Each day you should try and say something that you are grateful for, just think how much more positivity you will be bringing into your life if you do this small task.
Keep working on your goals, on your future, and on your passions, but don’t forget to appreciate what you have now.
